
River Bend House offers you the following features:
MAIN FLOOR:
A grand DINING ROOM with fine views of the grounds is furnished with antiques, a hand woven carpet and for those romantic dinners, there is an electric fireplace with antique mantel.
The open concept galley KITCHEN offers a 'butcher block' style, solid wood kitchen counter, a La Cornue professional style gas stove, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher and coffee-maker. All dinnerware, flatware, glassware and essential cookware provided.
LIVING ROOM is spacious and bright, offering a traditional open-hearth wood-burning fireplace with antique mantel and furnished with many antique pieces plus a sofa bed and flat screen TV. French doors lead from the living room out onto a flagstone terrace.
SECOND FLOOR:
MASTER BEDROOM is exceptionally large, offering a traditional fireplace with antique mantel, two closets; antique oak double bed and night tables. This bedroom has a private 3-piece bathroom featuring a roomy enclosed shower.
The spacious SECOND BEDROOM with adjoining walk-in closet / dressing room and 3-piece bathroom offers a queen-size traditional pine bed, with matching night stands.
At the top of the stairs you will find access to a large furnished OUTDOOR BALCONY where you can see nearby vineyards and watch some wonderful sunsets. The opposite interior upper landing has an antique desk positioned with river view.
OUTDOORS:
One acre heritage grounds with many mature trees, shrubs, flowers and a Wishing Well. The flagstone terrace offers outdoor dining with table and chairs, a picnic table and natural gas barbeque (connected).
River Bend House is directly across the road from the extensive Niagara Parkway's bicycle / walking / nature trail.
The area also abounds with vineyards, wineries, fruit stands (in season), golfing and so much natural beauty.
As part of the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake (a National Historic Site) River Bend House is just a short scenic drive (on the Parkway) to 'Old Town' Niagara-on-the-Lake where you will find the Shaw Festival Theatres, historic Fort George, art and antiques, unique shops, fine and casual dining. Only twenty minutes in the other direction to the breathtaking, world renowned Niagara Falls.

HISTORY & SPECIAL FEATURES:
Massive hand-hewn beams and basement stone construction demonstrate historic nature of the house.
Oak bed in Master Bedroom was originally owned by the first Postmaster General of Upper Canada.
Original carriage stepping stone at the front walk, where traditionally guests arriving by carriage were dropped off (guests now more typically use the back walk and enter the house through the rear foyer).
Landscaping of the one acre heritage grounds was done by John Morley (formerly in charge of Niagara Parkway gardens). Also, a historic wishing well will be found on the property.
Riverbend Farm directly behind River Bend House was established in 1932 and is still a working farm .
